The Feast of Pesach binds a believer every year to the Promise of Deliverance, which first commenced in Mitzrayim. Our Creator defines himself not by His enormity as author of all creation, but as a rescuer of a small group of dysfunctional and stiff necked human beings in a tiny corner of the cosmos.
Many of you are familiar with Passover, called Pesach in Hebrew and you know that Pesach kicks off the Week of Unleavened Bread. But what is Leaven? But before we look at leaven, shouldn't we look at bread first? The word "leaven" or "yeast" in Hebrew is שְׂאֹר se'or.
The Hebrew word for conspiracy is קֶ֫שֶׁר qesher, which means to make an (unlawful) alliance -- confederacy, conspiracy or treason. The Jews are no strangers to being accused of plotting conspiracies. Throughout their history they have been accused of conspiring to take over the world.
